Celebrate the last of the good weather in style with an open air cinema this weekend.

Elstree Studios are screening a couple of classic flicks for free in the grounds of Laura Ashley Manor Hotel in Barnet Lane, Elstree on Sunday.

The sky is set to be cloudy (but not raining) for viewers to enjoy films Paddington and The Devil Rides Out against the backdrop of the London skyline this Sunday.

Families can enjoy the movie about everyone’s favourite bear from deepest darkest Peru between 2pm and 4.30pm and join him on his adventure to find a family after arriving in London.

Later viewers can be creeped out by seeing familiar Borehamwood sites, including the Laura Ashley Manor Hotel, transformed before their eyes in the 1968 Hammer horror cult classic between 7pm and 8.30pm.

The hotel has been used as an on-screen location for projects as diverse as TV epic The Avengers and Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange.

The high-end high street retailer chose the Elstree site as its first luxury hotel which was re-opened in 2013.

Both soft and alcoholic drinks will be available for customers to buy and barbeque stall will be selling burgers, hotdogs and popcorn.

The event may be postponed if the weather looks set to get worse.
