More than 400 people attended Totteridge Millhillians Cricket Club to watch the Bunbury XI take on a team from Saracens, which included European Cup-winning players such as Alistair Hargreaves and Ben Ransom, captained by their chief Nigel Wray.

Dr English said: "Nigel has supported my Bunbury Cricket club since I started in 1987 and for the past 31 years we have staged the titanic cricketing tussle between the Bunburys and the Saracens.

"Once again, a family fun day of cricket and fairground activities were enjoyed by all and a princely sum was raised for the brilliant Saracens Foundation.

"As always, my most loyal Bunbarian, Harry, was by my side to make sure the festivities ran smoothly. I am indebted to him for his support to the club and once again, my heartfelt thanks go to the inspirational Nigel Wray for his generosity and kindness... roll on 2018!"

The Saracens beat the Bunbury XI in only their eighth loss in 31 years of playing, despite the losing team including sporting stars like cricketer Eoin Morgan, former boxing world champion Lloyd Honeyghan, former Arsenal player Perry Groves and former England and Crystal Palace forward John Salako.
