This bank holiday weekend the UK’s “Gastronomic Glastonbury” will come to London.

The Foodie Festival, taking place at Alexandra Palace between August 26 and 28, will feature top chefs, bakers, a street food village, craft beer, wine and champagne masterclasses, Cakes & Desserts Theatre, unsigned London bands, more than 200 exhibitors and a new Healthy Living Zone with daily yoga classes.

Rosemary Shrager will be cooking in the Chef’s Theatre, she can be seen on BBC’s The Big Family Cooking Showdown as a judge alongside Giorgio Locatelli. This is set to be the rival show to the re-launched Channel 4 version of the Great British Bake Off.

When asked about returning to Foodies Festival, Rosemary Shrager says: "I love cooking in the Chef's Theatre at Foodies Festival and I'm really looking forward to returning to the Foodies kitchen this year.  I love having the opportunity to share my top tips with the visitors at the festival and to inspire aspiring chefs to try out new recipes at home, not to mention the excuse to wander around the foodie delights at the festival itself!"

Other chefs include Great British Menu Winner 2017 Selin Kiazim, MasterChef Finalist 2017 Steve Kielty and local head chef Jamie Thickett of Veneta at Alexandra Palace.

Jamie Thickett tells me: “I’m really looking forward to returning to Foodies Festival this Bank Holiday weekend, I love sharing my recipe tips and helping fellow foodies realise how fun and rewarding it is to try out new recipes.”

Selin Kiazim left viewers and judges of Great British Menu in awe with her delicious winning dessert earlier this summer, and earned her place as a rising star on the London Foodie scene with her Turkish Cypriot fusion restaurant Oklava.

Selin says: “I’m excited to join Foodies Festival for the first time just after winning the dessert course of Great British Menu. I love sharing my passion for cooking with aspiring chefs and foodies, and showing them how my Turkish Cypriot heritage and travels inspire my cooking.”
