Hertfordshire Registration Service offers the opportunity for couples to have their ceremony dreams come true.

Engaged couples can now hold their marriage ceremony anywhere in Hertfordshire – in a bluebell wooded glade, a field surrounded by poppies and cornflowers or even a garden marquee.

To choose this option, all you need to do is have a small legal ceremony in one of the council’s eight register offices, and then you can hold your ceremony wherever your heart’s desire takes you.

Last year, Hertfordshire registrars presided over 3,500 weddings held in the register offices and 105 approved venues.

There are also approved venues where you can tie the knot in a wildlife park, say “I do” surrounded by Henry Moore sculptures, or have a Christmas themed wedding in the middle of the summer.

Cllr David Williams, responsible for resources, said: “We can offer such a varied choice of ceremonies to suit all individual wishes, fit in with your budget and of course, be just perfect for you.

“All our ceremonies are planned with you, you choose the style of ceremony, music and wording that is personal and special.”

He added: “Our new Hertfordshire celebrations brochure is where you will find all the options and choices of venues, suppliers and legal information in one place – your essential must have guide to a Hertfordshire wedding.”

Hertfordshire County Council’s Registration Service has just launched the latest version of its celebrations brochure – an expert guide on booking and planning your marriage in Hertfordshire.
