A bowls and croquet club invited a group of veterans for a celebratory exhibition match.
Finchley Victoria Bowling and Croquet Club, who won the Coronation Cup in 2015, invited The Chelsea Pensioners to play bowls matches at their club in Ballards Lane as a celebration of their receiving the cup on July 12.
The club has fought the odds after their clubhouses burnt down, to grow from around 20 members to almost 60.
Club president Eve Bagley welcomed groups and spectators before the games began, with Mayor of Barnet Cllr Brian Salinger and Cllr Graham Old along to watch it all take place.
Chelsea Pensioner Susan Dooley said: "This is such a lovely club, within beautiful green surroundings.
"It is wonderful to sit, watch bowls and croquet with a cup of tea and also see and hear the birds."
The Chelsea Pensioners are a group of war veterans who reside at the Royal Hospital Chelsea as in-pensioners.
After the matches Cllr Salinger spoke as the group sat down to afternoon tea.
