A man lost £1,000 the same day he withdrew it from the bank.
The money was taken out from Natwest, in Shenley Road, Borehamwood on Friday, July 7.
He placed the money in an envelope, and placed this in his back pocket only later that realised the envelope was missing.
It is believed a woman picked up the envelope containing the money outside Nando’s in Shenley Road.
The envelope contained a receipt for the transaction, but as yet the money has not been handed in to the bank or the police.
The police are appealing for a potential witness to come forward and have released a CCTV image of her.
Police would like to speak to the woman pictured as she may have witnessed the alleged offence or provide assistance with their investigation.
Call the police on 101 quoting crime reference J1/17/2881 or Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
The woman has since been in touch with the police.
