A national celebration of the great outdoors is encouraging people to enjoy their parks.

The national campaign Love Parks Week is now in its 11th year and Hertsmere Borough Council are asking residents to make the most of the many parks in the area.

The event is running from this Friday until Sunday, July 23, and people are asked to use the hashtag #LoveParks on social media to show what is great about the green spaces on offer.

Using the gathering in public support for parks, the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy will campaign to secure the quality of parks for generations to come.

Among the facilities on offer is the newly renovated Mary Forsdyke Garden and Warren Lake in Bushey Heath which was re-opened last month.
