A society are looking to strengthen ties with mainland Europe by hosting an evening of international entertainment.

The Borehamwood and Elstree Twin Town Association will be celebrating 35 years of links with partners in France and Germany.

The event will take place in St Teresa’s Parish Hall, Shenley Road on Friday, June 30.

Since its creation in 1982, the group has forged partnerships with Fontenay Aux Roses, near Paris and Offenburg in South West Germany.

The Mayor of Fontenay Aux Roses and Paris-based surgeon Dr Laurent Vastel will be the guest of honour at the party.

He will be accompanied by deputy mayor Monsieur Dominique Lafond, who was instrumental in creating the connection.

Alfred Braun, who hosted BETTA last year at the Offenburg Weinfest will also be in attendance.

Guests will be provided with a meal of boeuf bourgignon and be treated to French wine and German beer.

International entertainment will be provided by ' Heidi and the Boys ' and the 'Jumping Fleas Ukelele Band '.
