There are long queues at Brent Cross shopping centre as security has been increased.
Bag searches are in operation after a bomb exploded in Manchester Arena on Monday night during an Ariana Grande concert.
Car parks have been closed and customers are complaining that there are no signs.
They have taken to social media to speak out of the "chaos" that is ensuing as queues grow, and the centre itself have said they are redirecting traffic to specific car parks as some are closed.
@TimesJenny @WHampstead They are restricting the use of car parks. Everyone is being searched as you go in. Long queues at door

@brentcross_sc brilliant that you are doing security checks but it's complete chaos and no signs etc to explain what's happening .

There are also a number of queues in the surrounding roads, with traffic mounting on the A406 and A5.
Mother Aisling Eckbauer said: "My daughter and I were there earlier took ages to get over the bridge, everything is very slow moving and little information is being given, and there are lots of queues of people being searched.
"We turned around and came home.
"I understand why they are doing it but is very sad that it has come to days like this."
General manager Tom Nathan said: "Security procedures in the centre have been increased in line with advice from the security services, which have moved to raise the national security status to critical following recent events.
"The safety of our customers and colleagues remains our number one priority.
"Customers should remain alert but not alarmed, and should report anything suspicious to the police."
Barnet Met Police have urged people "not to be alarmed" on Twitter, as the extra policing is in place "for reassurance".
