A marathon man has spent the last 14 years raising more £20,000 for charity.

Retail manager Mark Plesner, 36, from Mill Hill, has five marathons, including the London Marathon 2017 for a variety of charities and has raised more than £20,000.

This year Mr Plesner fundraised more than £3,000 for Jami, a charity which helps young people tackle mental illness and supports families affected.

He said: "Being a part of the London Marathon is special; not just competing in it, but the sense of togetherness from all other runners and spectators.

"I was committed to the training from the start, and my fitness levels improved as a result!"

This year's official charity at the London Marathon was the Heads Together campaign, making mental health a key cause for the 40,000 runners who took part.
