More than £3,000 was raised at a charity tea and concert.

The event, held on March 26 at 96 Shenley Road, in Borehamwood, saw more than 100 people attend and more than £3,000 was raised for multiple sclerosis (MS) charity.

Organised by Laurie Davis, whose wife has MS, the event saw The Silvertones supply the music and members of the MS Society Borehamwood enjoyed the event.

Frances Gershinson, a member of the society, said: "We all have MS of different levels and the society lets us meet together. Laurie is a fantastic man and did a great job organising the event. He started the society two or three years ago.

"He deserves a lot of recognition for the work he does. We have these events every now and then and Laurie has managed to raise a lot of money by holding events like this.

"He is a wonderful man."

MS is a condition which can affect the brain and/or spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance.
