A crowdfunding site has raised thousands for a Barnet policeman mowed down in the London terror attack as he crossed Westminster Bridge after an awards ceremony.

The Just Giving page, set up by policing news outlet Police Hour, aims to raise £4,000 to support PC Kris Aves and two of his fellow officers hurt in last week’s atrocity.

Police Hour has said PC Aves’ life will change forever and he may not be able to walk the beat again.

Four people were killed and more than 50 injured when Khalid Masood ploughed into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge and stabbed PC Keith Palmer before he was shot dead by armed cops.

More than £700,000 was raised for the family of hero PC Palmer stabbed to death outside the Houses of Parliament.

Borehamwood Times:

PC Aves and two of his colleagues were caught up in the carnage on Westminster Bridge.

Dad PC Aves underwent eight hours of surgery after being hit by Masood’s car while leaving a commendation ceremony at the Met’s new HQ in Cannon Row.

Police Hour wrote on the funding page: “Police Hour is raising money for PC Kris Aves who suffered life-changing injuries as he walked across Westminster Bridge in London.

“As he left a commendation awards ceremony held by the Met Police he found himself in the middle of a terrorist attack as he was hit by a car that came from nowhere and struck him.

“Kris life will change forever and he may not be able to walk the streets of London again doing the job he loved.

“We would also like to raise some money for Fellow officers PC Roger Smith suffered leg injuries and required a number of operations.

“While a third officer PC Bradley Bryant was discharged from hospital following treatment for minor injuries.”

In one day of fundraising more than £2,500 has been raised to support the officers injured.

Yesterday a twelfth person was arrested as part of the nationwide probe into the Westminster attacks.

Counter-terror cops are probing if the terrorist had assistance in his attack but say at this stage it appears he was “a lone actor”.
