A woman is training to take on the Brighton Marathon to raise money for a riding centre for the disabled.
Jenny Bridger, 30, of Barnet Lane, in Borehamwood, is raising money for Penniwells Riding for Disabled Centre, in Elstree.
Miss Bridger decided to run the Brighton Marathon after having a spate of ill health and the riding centre helped her get her confidence back.
She said: "I am trying to raise around £1,000 for Penniwells but hoping to get more. Riding schools like this one do not get any grants and need as much money from volunteers as possible."
Miss Bridger grew up in Brighton and her family is still down there and that is why she has decided to run the Brighton Marathon again.
She said: "This will be my third Brighton Marathon. I ran it in 2011 and 2012.
The atmosphere is amazing and running next to the sea is perfect. I will probably go straight into the sea when I have finished."
