A county councillor has given her views on a planning application to build a new hotel in a car park.

Hertfordshire County Councillor Caroline Clapper, who represents the Radlett ward in both the county council and Hertsmere Borough Council, has spoken out about the proposed development in Newberries Car Park, in Radlett.

The proposed development of an 80-bedroom Travelodge and a Marks and Spencer food store in the Newberries Car Park has been opposed by the Radlett community since January last year. Now Cllr Clapper has publicly revealed her views on the development.

"I strongly believe that Radlett residents and businesses should have a big say in any major development proposed for our village. I propose to make that case to the council and see what can be done to bring all sides together to seek to work for the ongoing and long term future success of Radlett.
