For a fourth year running county councillors have each been provided with a highways locality budget intended for highway projects.
Hertsmere's county councillors have allocated a total of £560,000 for 2016/2017 to support schemes in the area requested by residents, including road resurfacing, signing improvements, speed surveys and the provision of solar powered speed indicator devices.
Additionally as part of this year's highways budget scheme, consultation has begun on the introduction of waiting restrictions in Bushey and Bushey Heath areas to try and combat obstructive and inappropriate parking.
Terry Douris, who is in charge of highways for Hertfordshire County Council, said: "Residents who use local routes on a daily basis have a good knowledge of what problems need fixing and the highways locality budget scheme is allowing people in Hertfordshire to influence important decisions on highway works in their area."
The highways budget gives councillors additional funding to the millions already invested every year by the county council in highway maintenance and improvement programmes.
