A drug dealer and “dangerous individual” who drove his car at police officers in a dramatic road chase has been jailed for six years.

Resul Rahova, of Garden City, Edgware, was found guilty of conspiracy to supply almost half a million pounds worth of cocaine and driving dangerously.

The 22-year-old and his accomplice Bashkim Gurguri were first spotted “behaving suspiciously” in Manns Road where police tried to arrest them in August.

Rahova intentionally drove his car at the officers as he made his escape, though Gurguri, 46, was arrested at the scene.

A bag Gurguri had been holding was found to contain £465,500 of cocaine and he was arrested at the scene.

It took another week to find Rahova in Twickenham where police struggled to apprehend the fugitive dealer and an officer was kicked “violently” in the thigh before he was arrested.

Both men were jailed on Friday (October 14), having been convicted on October 3 at Southwark Crown Court.

Gurguri was sentenced to four years for one count of conspiracy to supply cocaine.

DC Sarah Orange said: "This pair were dangerous individuals who were intent on evading police capture and showed no regard for anyone else's safety.

“It was fortunate that members of the public, and officers, were not injured as a result of their actions. The officers who pursued them showed persistence and dedication in bringing them to account.

The amount of drugs they were trying to supply amounted to eleven kilograms, which would have sold for over £1 million on the street.
