Earlier this year a project to improve and develop a woodland walk was given funding to allow it to go ahead.

The projects, which will be delivered by Countryside Management Service (CMS) in partnership with Hertsmere Borough Council, will see Studio Way Woodland and Potterswood Park, both in Borehamwood, improved.

Unknown to many, this woodland stands in part of what once was the back lot of MGM British Studios, and so has connections with the local film and television heritage.

Perhaps its most famous landmark, although no longer standing, was the Ivanhoe Castle built for the 1952 MGM film Ivanhoe.

On October 13 there will be a circular guided walk around Studio Way Woodland and Potterswood Park at 10.30am. Projects officer for CMS Ellie Beach will guide the tour.
