The winners of a photography competition organised by a community organisation have been announced.

On September 14, Leecliffe Big Local Partnership, who organised the competition as a way to engage with members of the community, held a prize giving celebration for the competition winners.

Pervin Cemal won the adult class with her rainbow photograph entitled 'I Know Where The Gold Is Buried'. Rachel Green came second with her photograph captioned 'Fun on the Rope'.

15-year-old Lucy Apples took the under 17 years category with her photograph 'Bird on a Roof'.

Chairmen of Leecliffe Big Local Donna Inwood said: "Re-engaging with the public is a major challenge for us, but it is the only way the Big Local Plan will work effectively.

"We need to bring back the spirit of the community to make this project happen. By running the photograph competition we hope we are on the road to achieving this goal.

"We had some great entries and all will be available on our website when we launch later this year."

Leecliffe Big local has been carrying out consultation with the community and local stakeholders as part of refreshing their plan.

Earlier this year, Leecliffe Big Local agreed to work with Affinity Sutton, who will act as their bankers. Affinity Sutton has also employed a Community Development Worker on behalf of Leecliffe Big Local, to help manage and deliver the plan.
