An NHS group supporting breastfeeding mothers in Barnet has won an award for its services to families in the borough.
The Barnet breastfeeding support service works across the whole borough to help parents develop relationships with their babies and support mothers’ confidence with breastfeeding.
The group has won the Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) trophy for team of the yea’ at the NHS Trust’s staff awards.
Team leader Iman Hikal, who collected the award on behalf of the staff, said: “We are honoured to have won such a fantastic award.
“The best part of the job is to be a listening ear to a mum who perhaps hasn’t had the opportunity to speak to someone about how she is finding the change that has happened in her life.
“We are able to provide daily support to these women and families to see them move mountains and come out the other side smiling, and having developed a very special bond with their baby.”
The yearly awards recognise the contribution of CLCH staff to working to improve the lives across nine London boroughs and in Hertfordshire.
CLCH chair Angela Greatley said: “These awards are a celebration of that dedication and passion and a reminder of our commitment to employing the best NHS staff.
“My congratulations and thanks to the winners, nominees, and all at CLCH.”
