A Hendon-based university is celebrating its victories on a number of university league tables.

Middlesex University London moved eleven places to 74th in this year’s Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide rankings, released on Sunday (September 25).

Days earlier, it was listed as one of the top 600 universities in the world for the first time by Times Higher Education in their World University Rankings.

It was also named one of QS’s Top 100 Universities under 50 years old.

The Good University list ranks 128 universities on various factors including student satisfaction, research quality, entry standards, graduate prospects, services and facilities.

Professor Tim Blackman, Middlesex University Vice-Chancellor said: “We’re delighted by Middlesex University’s dramatic rise in the latest rankings which highlights the successful impact of our student centred approach.

“I’m particularly pleased to see the rise in our students’ graduate-level employability results. At Middlesex we put our students first and provide the tools required for successful future careers.

“As an ambitious University we empower our diverse population of students to succeed with their goals by creating a collaborative environment where everyone can learn together and achieve their full potential.”

The university, whose main campus is in the Burroughs, was granted university status under John Major’s government in 1992, giving it the ‘modern’ status alongside other ex-polytechnics and colleges.
