A grateful mother is searching for a couple that saved her daughter’s birthday.
Katherine Hagger’s daughter was devastated after losing her new purse containing all of her birthday money, on September 11.
Mrs Hagger and eight-year-old daughter Lindsay were shopping in Waterfields Shopping Park when the purse fell from her mother’s handbag.
But the purse, that contained almost £100, luckily also contained the girl’s name and postcode.
When the pair arrived home, in Mutchetts Close, Watford, they were greeted by a young couple who had found it an hour earlier and driven round to deliver it.
Known only to Mrs Hagger as Ellie and Cameron, from Borehamwood, the mother is desperate to find out their full names so she can thank them properly.
Mrs Hagger said: “They went out of their way to make sure my daughter got her purse back; not many people would have done what they did.
“They spent an hour waiting for us and also knocked on all our neighbours’ houses trying to track us down.
“My daughter was stunned and shocked; she was so happy. Neither of us expected us to see the purse again and I just wish I’d got their full names so I could thank them properly. I want to send them a letter."
