Police arrested four people on suspicion of managing a brothel after a raid in Borehamwood.

Officers raided a maisonette in Shenley Road on Thursday at 3.15pm after receiving information from the public.

A 21-year-old woman from Harrow, a 19-year-old woman from Borehamwood, a 19-year-old woman from Harrow and a 22-year-old man from Harrow were arrested on suspicion of managing a brothel. They are currently in police custody.

Hertsmere Detective Inspector Matt Phillips, who ran the operation, said: “I’d like to thank members of the public for information, which combined with intelligence, helped us to execute the warrant yesterday.

“Brothels have a negative impact on local communities and attract crime and anti-social behaviour.”

The operation was carried out by the Operation Scorpion team, which target crimes including drug-related offences, burglaries and robberies, with support from the Borehamwood and Elstree Safer Neighbourhood Team and Operational Support Group.
