Asda is urgently recalling one of its products after salmonella was detected in a batch.
The food poisoning bug was found in a batch of its Chicken and Sweetcorn Pasta Salads during a routine test.
Customers are warned not to eat the pasta salad, whilst those who have purchased one can return it for a full refund.
The Food Standards Agency said the infected sample was part of a batch with Saturday's sell-by date (April 23).
Salmonella can cause sickness and diarrhoea and can be very serious among young children, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.
A store notice released by Asda reads: "Asda is recalling its Chicken and Pasta Salad 400g with the above date code on a precautionary basis, because salmonella has been found during routine testing of one sample.
"If you have purchased this product, please do not eat it. If you have purchased Chicken and Pasta Salad 400g with the above date code, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund.
"You do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused."
