A woman was pulled to the ground defending her bag from a man attempting to steal it.
The victim was walking along Linton Avenue on Tuesday night when a man grabbed her handbag.
She held on to it and was pulled to the ground. The man ran off after the woman started screaming.
Police said the man had a medium build, and was around 5ft 6in tall.
He was said to be wearing a dark coloured hoody or hooded jacket, which may have been bottle green or navy in colour.
PC Sam Davey is investigating and said: “Fortunately, the victim was not seriously hurt during the incident however she did suffer minor injuries and was left shaken.
“I would urge anyone who may have seen the offender or has information about the incident to contact me as soon as possible.”
