During the Christmas and New Year period, the Borehamwood Food Bank has been working hard to provide food and items to those who were struggling to purchase them.

Now, a new, free course has started at the Borehamwood Food Bank which aims to help people manage their finances.

The course, Made of Money, is being run by two long term volunteers at the bank, Frankie White and Helen Stammers, who both trained in London by Quaker School Action.

Mrs Stammers said: “It is a friendly, interactive approach to identifying what influences our spending, our financial goals, working through the many demands on our finances and how to prioritise these.

“As a local course we can also benefit by sharing of knowledge within the group.”

Made of Money is free and available for all regardless of whether or not a person has been a Food Bank client.

Mrs White said: “We are not CAB or financial advisors but we can help. The course is fun and we promise you will take away some good ideas to help make 2016 a little easier.”

The course runs every Monday in St Teresa’s Church Hall in Shenley Road, Borehamwood, from 1.45pm to 2.45pm.
