A nursery has begun their enrolment week with a healthy start with a theme of celebrating nutritious food that children love.

Busy Bees nursery in Shenley is using their enrolment week as a chance to reinforce the importance of nutrition.

Throughout the week parents and other relatives can meet with staff and watch cooking demonstrations from the nursery’s chef Maria Munday.

Zara Habib, nursery manager, said: “Nursery food has come a long way in the last 10 years and we’re very proud to be able to champion the healthy and nutritious meals that we offer – we only buy quality produce and each dish is freshly prepared by Maria throughout the day.

“We’re so proud to have retained our silver award from the soil association as it’s a rubber-stamp guarantee that all of our children at our nursery are eating the very best nutritious and delicious food, free from additives and responsibly sourced.

“Our enrolment week will give parents and children the chance to taste our delicious food and even pick up some useful tips on the benefits of healthy eating from a young age.”

A member of the Children’s Centre was also at the nursery to discuss all aspects of healthy eating, including tips on quantity, variety and allergies.

Parents are also able to sample dishes from the menus that have been put together by the catering manager, Mel Fox and her team of chefs.
