An independent, boarding school has been rated ‘excellent’ in all areas in the latest inspection.

Edge Grove School in Radlett was praised in the latest inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

The report highlights that at all stages of the school, the quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent.

Ben Evans, headteacher at Edge Grove School, said: “Being rated as ‘excellent’ in all areas is a fantastic achievement for the school as it is not something that is easily achieved.

“The outcome of this result makes us a leading prep school nationally and demonstrates the incredible and consistent commitment, professionalism and hard work that our staff deliver day to day; I’m immensely proud.”

According to the report, the contribution of curricular and extra-curricular provision was also rated as excellent.

The inspectors found that the links with the parents were also considered ‘excellent’ with them noting that the parents ‘expressed strong satisfaction with the education and care their children receive’.

The achievement of children in the early year’s foundation stage were praised and the report shows that the children made ‘strong progress in relation to their starting points.’

The report also praises the pastoral care and it says that the school ‘fulfils its aim to provide a secure and happy environment in which pupils feel safe, nurtured and valued.’

During the inspection, the quality of governance, leadership and management were observed and rated as ‘excellent’.
