A pregnant woman has complained to Vauxhall after taking her car in for service 27 times.

Jemma Jacobs, 30, of Edgware, bought a car from the Vauxhall branch in Borehamwood and claims that it has had to be recalled around 27 times since she purchased it in 2011.

Mrs Jacobs, who is five months pregnant, bought a brand new Vauxhall Mokka but has had problems ever since buying the car.

She said: “I want to make people aware. You don’t expect this from a named brand like Vauxhall. I have lost all faith and respect for them.

“I have spoken to Vauxhall every time I had to take my car in and they said that someone will call me back and they never have.

“My car has been recalled about 27 times and no-one really wants to help me.

“As soon as I bought it, I had to take it back because it had electrical faults and it’s been like that ever since.

“I have taken it into the garage three times in the past three weeks.” As a freelance hairdresser and make-up artist, Mrs Jacobs relies on her car to get to her clients and claims she has lost customers because of her unreliable car.

She was given another car to drive five months ago despite telling them that it is a struggle to get in and out being heavily pregnant.

Mrs Jacobs said: “I was told that they would get a replacement car more suitable to my needs and they never did.

“They had the car in service for about a month and I was still paying for it despite not using it.

“I asked about a refund and they said that they don’t do them or even compensate for when a car is in service.”

In February this year, Mrs Jacobs received an email from David Miles, dealer principal at theVauxhall branch in Borehamwood, who apologised for the issues that she was having with her car.

The Times has seen the email to Mrs Jacobs, and in it he says ‘I am sorry to hear of your issues ’ and apologises for ‘the inconvenience the numerous issues must have put you to’.

Mrs Jacobs added: “All I want is my money back. They want to sell me another Vauxhall which I certainly don’t want and I have made that very clear.”

The Borehamwood Times spoke to Vauxhall who did not want to give a statement.
