LESS than three quarters of patients have been seen by hospital doctors within the government waiting time target.
Just 72.8 per cent of patients were seen within four hours of waiting at Northwick Park Hospital’s A&E department in September 2015 – falling far short of the government’s target of 95 per cent.
Throughout England, 93.4 per cent of patients were seen within the four hour target.
In January 2014 the Board at the London North West Healthcare Trust identified the need for 123 more beds at Northwick Park to meet existing demand.
Since then, the A&E departments at Central Middlesex and Hammersmith Hospital’s were closed in September 2014 placing further pressure on Northwick Park.
Meanwhile just 52 new beds have been opened to this date.
