A construction firm has been shortlisted for a top award for its outstanding commitment to health and safety.

AJ Morrisroe & Sons is in the running for a prestigious Pride of Construction Award, the annual industry prize-giving run by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

The ceremony will take place on November 25 at the Natural History Museum in London and celebrates all of the best people, companies and partners in the construction industry.

Hakim Nazerali, head of health, safety, environment and quality affairs at AJ Morrisroe & Sons, said: “We understand the importance of safety in the workplace.

“Our short video briefings are designed to cater to different literacy levels, overcome language barriers and help the workforce to better visualise processes.

“The Pride of Construction Awards are a fantastic way to highlight the valuable work undertaken by companies and individuals within the industry and we are thrilled to be nominated.”

The company specialises in groundworks and reinforced concrete frame construction and has developed a series of short videos which demonstrate to staff the safest way to carry out planned works.

Gillian Cain, CITBS’s regional delivery manager for the south, said: “AJ Morrisroe & Sons are a great example of what the Pride of Construction awards are designed to celebrate – innovate firms helping to improve standards and educate their workforce.

“I congratulate the company on its well-deserved nomination and wish them best of luck for the ceremony.”
