JUST one month to go until Pinner becomes a sea of red and white as part of a Christmas-themed fundraiser.

Fundraisers of all ages will snap on their white beards and red outfits as they dress as Father Christmas and complete a three-mile dash around Pinner in aid of Kenton-based St Luke’s Hospice.

Hundreds of Santa’s of all ages will create a vision of red as they follow the route on Sunday, December 13, and the charity is urging more keen volunteers to sign up to take part.

Angela Egan has raised thousands of pounds for St Luke’s through taking part in the Santa Dash for several years – last year Angela and her group ‘Away with the Fairies’ raised £3,500.

She said: “My husband was really young when he was diagnosed with cancer and died aged 33-years-old.

“I started taking part in events so I could say thank you to the Hospice for all their hard work.

“Then a few years ago a friend of mine died and it was round the time of the Santa Dash, so I decided to get involved.

“After the Santa Dash, we would go to our pub in our Santa suits and this one time a lad gave me £20, by the end of the night we raised an extra £200 to 300.

“From then onwards, a group of us, around 16-20 people, would go on a pub crawl with our buckets just to try and raise extra money.”

The dash starts at 10am from Nower Hill High School, in George V Avenue, Pinner, and all runners will be provided with a Santa suit.

Registration costs £7 for under 16s and £12 for adults and can be booked at www.stlukes-hospice.org/santadash or by phone on 020 8382 3112.
