Following heavy rain the Thameslink line which passes through Radlett and St Albans is causing delays for services due to flooding.
The London-bound slow line was closed because of flooding near Mill Hill and Elstree this morning at around 7.30am. It reopened at 8.50am.
During the closure all the services had to be diverted via the one fast southbound line which caused delays of up to 27 minutes and various cancellations.
Roger Perkins for Thameslink said: “This morning’s heavy rain flooded one of the southbound tracks which led to delays and some cancellations.
"Network Rail was able to deal with the flooding and reopen the line some 80 minutes later but passengers continued to be delayed as we rebalanced the timetable and brought trains and drivers back into their correct position.
"We apologise to passengers who can claim compensation via our website if they were delayed by 30 minutes or more.”
There are still delays of around 20 minutes but these should be removed by 11am.
