A free competition will award prizes for the best amateur photos taken of the waterways.

Keen photographers aged 16 and over are being invited to submit photos taken from their own perspective which reflect the waterways that run through Harrow.

The River Brent Catchment has over ten waterways including Bentley Priory and Edgware Brook in Harrow, and flow through another four London boroughs.

Francesca Campagnoli, who works on the project, said: “Since 2013, I have seen an increasing number of people getting together to improve and enjoy green spaces and paths along the River Brent, its tributaries, and the Grand Union Canal.

“As a keen cyclist and rambler, I am sure everyone will have great adventures while taking pictures. I’m looking forward to seeing some fantastic photos.”

Photos will be judged and there is a first prize award of £100 cash, plus two runners up prizes and the winning photos will feature on a brand new website.

The competition, which launched on October 5, will run for six weeks and the deadline for submissions is midnight on Sunday, November 15.
