A BURGLAR who broke into a house and stole cash, a PlayStation and jewellery has been jailed.
Leon Coulthard, of Manor Way, Borehamwood, pleaded guilty to breaking into the home in Beethoven Road between 10am and 6.30pm on Monday, August 24.
The 23-year-old was caught after detectives found DNA evidence linking him to the crime scene.
In court on Friday, the judge sentenced him to three years in prison and ordered him to pay £900 costs.
Detective Constable Paula Oldaker, from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Specialist Investigation Team and who investigated the burglary, said: “We are working hard to tackle burglary in Hertfordshire and make the county a hostile place for criminals.
“Coulthard received a substantial sentence, which I hope will send out a strong warning to anyone who is involved in burglary. It will not be tolerated and we will catch you.”
