THIS picture of a swan spreading its wings and making a splash was taken by chance.
Andrea Perry took the shot while walking down the River Lea, in Enfield.
The behaviour support officer at Lea Valley High School, in Bullsmoor Lane, Enfield, said: “It was actually taken by pure chance as I was walking away from the swan as it was hissing at me.
“Then I heard the sound of its wings flapping so I turned around and quickly snapped – and this lovely picture was the result.”
Chief photographer Peter Beal said: “This is a very well-timed shot. I always say the best pictures are the ones that happen in the spur of the moment.
“I am impressed with how quickly Andrea reacted when she heard the swan flapping. Good work.”
