A football club has managed to secure a sponsorship deal with a homebuilder for the third year running.

Taylor Wimpey and non-league football club Boreham Wood FC, which play at Meadow Park, Broughinge Road, renewed a deal for the 2015-2016 season.

Thee side will compete at their highest level since forming in 1948, in the fifth tier of English football, the Vanarama National League, after they were promoted last season.

Taylor Wimpey has also sponsored the Meadow Park outfit for the previous two seasons.

Club chairman Danny Hunter says: “When a large company like Taylor Wimpey comes into a small town like Borehamwood, it’s fair to say local people do watch to see if they contribute to our local economy. As a well-known housebuilder, they have been amongst us for a few years now.

“In that time Taylor Wimpey have demonstrated, not only with us but with others, that they want to make a difference with the quality of what they are building.

“They are also employing local people where possible and it seems to me they are genuinely interested in the local community.

“As such, our football club is hugely grateful to them for their sponsorship and support once again and we hope it forms part of a continued partnership going forward.”

Away from the team’s exploits on the pitch, the club continues to be a key community asset, providing free football coaching for hundreds of primary school children across the area.

Christine Scarborough, sales and marketing for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, says: “We are delighted to be able to support Boreham Wood FC again this season, especially as it will be the best standard of league football ‘The Wood’ has ever enjoyed. We wish them every success in what will be an exciting season ahead”
