Leisure centre signs up to provide life-saving health checks
Sports fans can now check their blood pressure when they hit the gym.
Harrow Leisure Centre, in Christchurch Avenue, has been commissioned to deliver NHS Health Checks for those aged 40 to 74 for the next 12 months.
The free programme will be delivered by Everyone Health and aims to help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and dementia.
Weight, blood pressure and cholesterol will be tested during the 20-minute test, and results will be upload to a secure website to be passed on to the patient’s GP.
