More tears fell today as GCSE students found out their fate as they tore open their results.

Students across Harrow have spent the past few months nervously awaiting the release of their GCSE results, which were given out from 8am this morning.

Teachers at the North London Collegiate Schoo, in Canons Drive, Edgwarel have celebrated another years of success as 38 students gained straight A*s.

More than 82 per cent of entries achieved the top A* grade this year while 95 per cent of entries were graded A* or A.

Head Bernice McCabe said: “We are delighted with girls’ GCSE results.

“They have been achieved through ensuring that our girls are stretched academically but it is also the balance between extra-curricular interests and inspiring teaching which helps girls to both success and enjoyment.”

In Northwood, six Year 11 students at St Helen’s School achieved all A* grades while a total of 35 students achieved exclusively A* and A.

A total of 53 per cent of all grades awarded were A*s, while 84 per cent of grades were at A* or A.

At Northwood School for Girls, 90 per cent of all grades were marked A* to B with 30 per cent of the girls achieving solely A or A* grades.
