Gas holders that have towered over the community for more than 50 years will be dismantled to make way for housing.
Neighbours are invited to find out more about the National Grid’s plans to remove the gasometers in Station Road, Borehamwood.
Work to remove them will begin in August 2015.
The land has been allocated for housing under the Hertsmere Local Plan.
Anyone is invited to find out more about the plans on Thursday, July 30, from 3pm to 7pm at Allum Hall, Elstree.
