Children sprinted into action when they won an athletics tournament.
Pupils from Monksmead School, in Hillside Avenue, Borehamwood, took part in the Under 10s sporting event against other schools in Hertsmere.
They took first place, beating off their rivals at Cowley Hill School, in Thrift Farm Lane, Borehamwood, who came third.
Monksmead pupil Aaron Robins, who is in Year 5, said: “My mum is going to be so proud.”
Year 5 teacher Tom Remmant said: “It’s a massive achievement for the school and I am so proud of the children who were all amazing.
“It’s a great way to end the year.”
The tournament was held at Queens’ School, in Bushey, and featured all schools who were winners or runners-up in their competition.
