Farm animals entertained families at a nursery school’s summer fair.

Busy Bees Day Nursery, in Andrew Close, Shenley, invited parents and children to its annual activities day.

The day raised £313 for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which offers support for children across the country living with serious illnesses.

A bouncy castle, a barbecue, face painting and a visit from zoo animals were the highlight of the day.

Children were given the chance to pet animals including rabbits while having their faces painted.

Music was provided by DJ Mikey4Getz and Super Soccer gave football demonstrations, letting the children show off their and let the youngsters show off their ball skills.

A representative from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) also visited the nursery, educating little ones about the local bird wildlife and the natural habitat.

Nursery manger Zara Habib said: “It’s been a fantastic day for everyone involved and we were very pleased to see some new faces at nursery – as well as some familiar faces too. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.”
