Young poets slammed their fellow students as they took home one of three awards at a competition.
Norbury Primary School students Ryan Mctiernan, Anna Peter and Zaw Gauzam, all aged nine, were presented with certificates after winning the Verse vs Verse Poetry Slam at the Criterion Theatre in the West End.
The winning team performed as part of the annual celebration of the spoken word, run as part of a literature project by Eastside Educational Trust and supported by John Lyon's Charity.
Pupils had previously worked with spoken word artist and performance poet Cat Brogan, who had run workshops at their school in conjunction with the slam.
Also taking part were students from Whitefriars Primary School, in Whitefriars Avenue, Wealdstone.
