Walkers grabbed their umbrellas and ponchos as they took on an annual sponsored walk for charity.
Hundreds of people turned out to take part in the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Charity’s annual Buttercup Walk, raising £40,000 toward the Make it Possible campaign to improve facilities and services for patients.
To kick off this year’s day of activities, attractions included live music, a magician and a dog show - with guest of honour Norman Sharp, who officially started the walk.
Norman, now aged 90, first came to the hospital in 1930 Norman and now holds the world record with the longest lasting hip replacements ever – 67 years and still going strong.
His father took part in the first Buttercup Day event with the then Duke of Gloucester.
