An 18-year-old who is passionate about women’s rights will fly through the skies to raise money for the cause.
Shriya Samani, who lives in Borehamwood, has raised £180 for Plan International’s Because I Am a Girl campaign.
The Woodhouse College, Finchley, student is taking part in the jump to mark the 15th anniversary of the Jack Petchey Foundation.
She said: “I chose to raise money for Plan because I believe in fighting for gender inequality, promoting women’s rights and lifting millions out of poverty.
“Plan will achieve this by supporting hundreds of millions of girls to escape violence and get the education, skills and support they need to become powerful forces for change in their communities.”
The jump will take place at the North London Skydiving Centre at Chatteris Airfield, in Cambridgeshire.
