Children joined the battle against cancer by taking part in a charity fun run.

Pupils from Monksmead School, in Hillside Avenue, Borehamwood, raised £790 during their own Race for Life event in aid of Cancer Research.

Hertsmere Leisure held the event last Wednesday, with children from Reception to Year 6 taking part in a Zumba warm up. Pupils then ran laps of the field throughout the afternoon.

Alexander Williams, who is in Year 5, said: “It was tiring but I knew it was for a good cause.”

Year 6 pupil Emily Clark said: “It was great as we raised lots of money for an amazing charity, It was fun running around with friends and family.”
