Several conifer trees were destroyed in a garden fire in Radlett this morning.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue was called to Goodyers Avenue at 9.40am, where neighbours reported a fire at the back of a garden.
When crews arrived they found the back fence and shed alight as well as a row of conifer trees.
Garston Fire station Watch Commander Chris Merritt said firefighters had to cut many branches as the fire had got deep into the trunks and into a compost heap nearby.
It took the fire service an hour to put out the fire.
The shed and the trees have been completely destroyed and there is significant damage to approximately six metres of fence.
