A history group learnt more about the dark days of the First World War.
Friends of Elstree & Boreham Wood Museum met for their second social event of the year at 96 Shenley Road.
The theme of the evening was Europe Erupts and museum volunteer Lynda Marshall spoke about the struggle with Germany between 1914 and 1918.
The group was also treated to a viewing of Hertfordshire - A County at War - depicting the struggles of everyday life in the area.
Anyone is invited to join the friends group, which costs £5 a year. For more information visit www.elstree-museum.org.uk and click on the Friends page or call 01442 454888.
