Children stepped into politicians' shoes for the day when they held at mock council meeting with the Mayor of Hertsmere.
Pupils from Parkside School, in Aycliffe Road, Borehamwood, welcomed Mayor Councillor Carey Keates to their school.
School council members were treated to a special council meeting where they were given the chance to ask him challenging questions.
Pupils said they were “fascinated” to learn about the role of the mayor and intruiged to learn about the significance of the images on his chain of office.
Year 5 pupil Daniella said: "It was particularly good because we could talk with the Mayor comfortably and ask him lots of questions.
“It was exciting to find out about his life when he lived in Kenya, especially that he used to catch snakes.”
