Most people will admit they are terrified of speaking in front of a crowd of people, let alone singing.

But not young Micah Gordon who, aged just four, bravely stood up at his school’s talent show in front of 200 people and sang Do You Hear the People Sing from Les Miserables.

And it seems the Borehamwood resident, who is now six, has got the acting bug as he recently featured in a major promotional advert for a children’s channel on the major Israeli television network Yes TV.

“He is quite timid amongst people but when he is given an opportunity to get in front of the camera he seems to come alive,“ explains dad Darren, who previously acted in Grange Hill and The Bill.

The 44-year-old adds: “He is kind of fearless, really.“

Southgate school pupil Micah was flown out to Barcelona for four days with his mum Ruth for the shoot in which he played a young prince who wakes up one morning to find himself the new king.

In the advert, which has been viewed thousands of times on YouTube and was first aired earlier in April, Micah battles barbarians before suggesting they all play a game of hide and seek instead.

“The whole experience was unbelievable,“ says Ruth, 46. “He has made really good friends out of it. He got on with everybody and was a proper star.“

Along with filming for Yes TV, Micah – who has a two-year-old sister – also played a part in the BBC3 comedy Siblings, due to air later this year, and has been in an Easter advert for ASDA.

Former children’s entertainer Ruth explains she first signed her son up to children’s talent agency Daisy Dukes after her mother, who passed away last year, suggested the idea.

“We have done it for mum,“ she says. “I just thought it would be a fantastic experience for him to bring out the confidence for him,“ she continues.

“I’m so proud, I can’t tell you, I just want to kiss him and squeeze him. I’m so, so proud of him.“

However Micah’s interests are not strictly limited to acting as the maths fan currently plans to be a singing racing driver scientist when he grows up.

“He is just a very special little boy, really,“ says Darren. “I have got so much admiration for him, he makes me very proud.“
