People can have their blood pressure checked at an event organised by Borehamwood Rotary Club.

Doctors and nurses will be on hand at the Number 96 community centre in Shenley Road, Borehamwood, on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

The day, which has been organised with the help of charity the Stroke Association, will make people more aware of their blood pressure and encourage them to speak to their GPs about it if necessary.

Rotarian David Clout said: “The club is grateful to the management at Number 96 for providing this great venue for this year’s blood pressure checks.

“We hope to meet people who are now living with controlled blood pressure as a result of a previous meeting with us at an earlier Stroke Awareness Day but we also expect to meet people who are unaware of the danger of a stroke because their blood pressure is not under control.”
